Challenge
National debt is one of the most talked about numbers in politics, yet it is almost impossible for most people to picture. The figures sit buried in government reports, updated infrequently, and presented in a way that means very little to the average person.
There was no simple, neutral place to see what the country owes right now, or what that figure actually means for each citizen and taxpayer. Without that context, a number in the trillions stays abstract and easy to scroll past.

Solution
We built a live web application that tracks Australia's national debt in real time, presenting it as a continuously updating counter that loads instantly on any device. The figure is broken down into per citizen, per taxpayer, and debt-to-GDP views, giving visitors immediate context for the scale of the number.
The design is deliberately clean and neutral, keeping the focus on the data rather than commentary. Built on estimates drawn from official government statistics, the tracker delivers a clear, always current snapshot that anyone can understand in seconds.
